Day 3, Brezová pod Bradlom - Trenčín Thu, 15 Sept
The third stage of your journey takes you the across the rolling hills of “kopanice” region along the Váh river to a historic town Trenčín.
Just a few kilometres up the cycling path, you reach Košariská, the village where Milan Rastislav Štefánik was born. Make a short stop by the information panel in the centre of the village to learn a bit about this inspiring personality.
From Košariská, you follow a road with low traffic across picturesque villages and dispersed settlements. You will pass an ecofarm in Podkylava, too. In Višňové, there is a splendid view upon the Čachtice castle ruin, famous for its legends and history of the bloody countess Báthory. If you have a lot of energy, you can make a steep walk up to the castle along the red or green trail from Višňové village.
Behind Višňové, follow a narrow valley alongside the railway track to Čachtice village. There are a few options to eat and drink. From here, head to the Váh valley cycling path, that will lead your way up north to Trenčín.
