Things to do on your rest day
It can be really a rest day, i.e. you would cycle only 26 kilometres from Dedinky across the mountains down to Spišská Nová Ves, check-in at your guest house, grab beers and burgers and that would be it.
But still, it does not have to be like that. If you feel like exploring a gorge in Slovak Paradise National Park, hike 2,5 hours in the morning directly from your Pastierňa guest house in Dedinky to Zejmarská gorge. There can be 1,50€ per person fee for entering the gorge.
If you prefer more historic, medieval sites to explore, head by bike or local bus from Spišská Nová Ves to Levoča (UNESCO). It has the largest gothic wooden altar in the world and nice square and streets to stroll around.
If you are a castle ruin lover, head by local bus or taxi to Spišské Podhradie. Hike from there up to Spiš Castle (UNESCO), or take a walk to magical Spišská Kapitula religious medieval centre and hike from there through scenic landscapes and medieval religious chapels to Sivá Brada travertine hill.
However, if you feel like staying in Spišská Nová Ves, that it totally fine. The town has pleasant square and the highest gothic church tower in Slovakia.
