Day 2, Moravský Svätý Ján - Brezová pod Bradlom Wed, 14 Sept

The second stage of your journey takes you from Morava river across the Záhorie region to rolling hills of Kopanice region, “Slovak Tuscany”.

On the first 22 kilometres, you will follow an asphalt road with some traffic, crossing villages Sekule and Borský Svätý Jur. In the little town of Šaštín-Stráže, it is worth to make a stop by the lake and a cathedral with monastery, one of the major catholic pilgrim sites in Slovakia.

Behind Borský Svätý Mikuláš, follow the cycling path across the pine tree forests and along the golf resort to the town Senica, a generic random town totally rebuilt during communism era with nothing to see, but having some cafés and restaurants for lunch.

Behind Senica, hills start. Behind the village Prietrž and uphill, take a look at the memorial from the Slovak National Uprising and enjoy the views from Lipovec watch tower. The local farming museum is most probably closed.

In Brezová pod Bradlom, take a rest in the guest house and if you have still too much energy, climb on your bike up to Mohyla Milana Rastislava Štefánika, a tomb of the Slovak hero from the WWI with splendid views.
